About Dr. Soriano...
Dr. Soriano started in 1974 in General Surgery and Chief of Surgery at hospital. He has performed surgery at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia, MS, Laird Hospital in Union, MS, Winston County Hospital in Louisville, MS, and Kemper County Hospital in Dekalb, MS. Dr. Soriano is the first physician to perform EGD, Colonoscopy and Bronchoscopy in all the four hospitals he worked for in the past. As part of being in general practice, he had assisted other physicians in OBGyn cases, C-Sections, D&Cs, and Excision of Vaginal Cyst (Bartholin). All the procedures he had performed were done at the major hospitals in Meridian, MS such as Rush Hospital, Riley Hospital, and Jeff Anderson's Hospital. In all of Dr. Soriano's years in practice he has never lost a patient before, during, or after surgery.
In the early 70's, the Neshoba County General Hospital almost closed down when all the physicians literally resigned or retired for unknown reasons. Without physicians, Dr. Cannon called Dr. Soriano to help him due to the fact that he was the only one left. Soriano had moved his practice to Winston County Hospital in Louisville, MS. Soriano returned and recruited Thomas Feducia, M.D., Kevin Nichols, M.D., Randy Nance, M.D., Virginia Vittor, M.D., Diego Valasco, M.D., Marcelo Mora, M.D., and Hilton Fairchild, M.D. The revenue soon increased to the point to where they built a new hospital in Philadelphia, MS. The incentive was started by all of the doctors, and not one person could take credit for all they had accomplished. It took a group effort and several hospital meetings with the Administration, Cecil Stewart, Attorney Edward Williamson, and others to review architectural drawings. It was just a matter of time to apply for Federal Funding. The record speaks for itself.
Dr. Soriano performed several surgeries such as: Tonsillectomy, Thyroidectomy, Plastic Repair Facial Laceration, Carotid Endarterectomy, Mastectomy. Breast Augmentation, or implant, Lobectomy, Chest tube exertion for Pneumothorax, Hemicolectomy, Hiatal Hernia Repair, (Fundoplication & Nissen Procedure), Vagotomy, Hemicolectomy, Splenectomy, Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, Salpingo-oophorectomy, Tubal Ligation, Cesarean Section, Inguinal Hernia Repair, Umbilical Repair, Incisional Hernia Repair, Excision of Pilonidal Cyst, Hemorrhoidectomy, Excision of Veneral Comdylomata, Circumcision, Orchiectomy, Open Reduction and Internal Fixation Fracture Hip (Smith Petersen Nail & Pugh Nail), Intramedullary Pinning for Fracture of Femur, Radius, or Clavicle, Excision of Olecranon Bursa, Treatment of Third Degree Burns, Application of Split Thickness and Full Thickness Skin Graft, as well as Pedicle Graft Placement for Decubitus Ulcer, Repair of Bimalleolar Fracture, Application of Cast for Non displaced Fracture or Compound Fracture.
Dr. Soriano no longer performs surgery for over 10 years and his practice now is clinic based. Patients admission is through Anderson's Hospital in Meridian, MS which is affiliated with Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia, MS. Dr. Soriano still has selected Nursing Home patients from the DON. He is also affiliated with Sta-Home Hospice and Home Care. The clinic performs wound care, which has been very successful over the years. The clinic prepares patients for Hospice and Pain Management on selected basis as required by CMS. The clinic accepts all Medicare patients despite the poor reimbursement from the Federal Government. The Laboratory and X-Ray is referred to Neshoba County General Hospital. All specialty care is referred to Anderson's Hospital in Meridian, MS.
